North Somerset starts the search for a contractor to build its Banwell Bypass

North Somerset Council has started the search for a contractor to construct its Banwell Bypass near Weston Super Mare, which will include improvements to junction 21 of the M5 as well as flood mitigation works.

The £56m project, which is to be funded by the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund, will support the development of future housing sites to help meet the demand for new homes over the next 15 years, as well as a new school for the area.

The council will procure the project via two-stage early contractor involvement procedure. The deadline for contractors to send prequalification information is September 23rd with tenders due to start in October.

Interest parties should keep an eye out for the official notice published this week here: https://www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk/

Firms have until 23 September to submit prequalification documents with tenders due to be invited at the start of October.
