North Wales: Month-long roadworks set for tourism hotspots

Roadworks are set to have an impact on two tourism hotspots in North Wales over the next few weeks. Work is being carried out on the A470 near Betws-y-Coed and on the A5 between Capel Curig and Llyn Ogwen, says the Daily Post.

Initial preparatory work started today (11 May) and is due to continue until 8 June. In terms of traffic management, a convoy system will be in place each day between 7.30am and 9.30pm.

Traffic Wales said the exact locations include the stretch from Hafod to Pont Waterloo on the A470, north of Betws-y-Coed.

The other section being surfaced goes from Tal-y-Waun near Capel Curig to the ever popular Llyn Ogwen.
