Salisbury to host drop-in session to discuss changes to city’s transport strategy

A public drop-in event is taking place in Salisbury this afternoon and evening to gather feedback on the city’s evolving transport plans. The event, taking place at Salisbury City Hall from 12pm to 8pm and organised by Wiltshire Council, will support the update of the Salisbury Transport Strategy, last refreshed in 2018, says Salisbury Live.

Since then, national and local transport policies, walking and cycling plans, and travel patterns have all changed, prompting a full review of the strategy, said the council.

Cllr Martin Smith, cabinet member for highways, said:

“Updating the Salisbury Transport Strategy is an important step to make sure the city’s transport network works for everyone. This drop-in event is a chance for people to find out more about the proposals and talk to us about the challenges and opportunities they see in Salisbury’s transport system.

“Whether you live, work or visit the city, your views will help us plan for a safer, greener and better-connected future.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to view plans, speak with the project team and share their views on the future of transport in the city.

A wider public consultation is expected to begin at the end of May.
