Shropshire Council will be carrying out two highway improvement schemes in Pontesbury this summer to improve pedestrian facilities, enhance road safety for residents, businesses and visitors, and improve highway drainage.

The first scheme will take place on Hall Bank from 24 August to 4 September, involving footway improvement works. The second scheme will take place on Brookside from 7 September to 18 September, where a raised table, footway improvements and drainage works will be installed. Both schemes will require temporary road closures and signed diversion routes.

Every effort is being made to maintain access for residents, businesses and emergency services throughout the works, although some delays and temporary restrictions may be necessary to ensure the safety of the public and workforce.

To help minimise disruption during the Hall Bank scheme, temporary traffic management measures will be introduced, including a resident and bus access only route via Brookside during the first scheme.

Personnel will be on hand to advise at each of the closure points and all other through traffic should follow the formal, signed, diversion route.

Shropshire Council thank residents and road users for their patience and co-operation while these important improvements are completed.
