Tanker Rent UK supports same-day gully tanker deployment for Dorset Council

Dorset Council put a new Bucher Municipal GullyFlex C80 gully tanker straight to work after Tanker Rent UK coordinated delivery, handover and operator training in a single morning.

Gully tankers are used to clear silt, debris and standing water from roadside drains, gullies and catch pits. Keeping these systems clear helps reduce surface water, protect nearby property and maintain safer road conditions.

The council required additional capacity to support ongoing drainage and maintenance work across its highways network, but without the delays typically associated with sourcing equipment, commissioning it and training operators.

Tanker Rent UK supplied the gully tanker and arranged for the Bucher Municipal operator training team to be on site as part of the handover, delivering full training to Dorset Council’s drivers and operators. The unit was delivered in the morning, with training completed that day and went straight into service. Tanker Rent UK handled the supply, handover and training through a single point of contact, reflecting its usual approach to hire: moving quickly, keeping the process straightforward and getting customers operational with minimal fuss.

Lennon Compton, Director at Tanker Rent UK, said:

“Our job is to make hire simple. Customers need the right equipment, quickly, with a clear handover and no messing about. In this case, Dorset Council had the vehicle delivered, operators trained and the unit ready to work in a single morning.

“There are lots of reasons customers hire tankers, from adding short-term capacity and covering downtime to accessing specialist equipment for a particular job. Our role is to make that process as simple, transparent and quick as possible, so customers can stay operational without unnecessary delay.”
