TTF Conference “sells out” as record numbers sign up to attend

Nearly 250 participants, including representatives from more than 60 local councils and combined authorities, will be in Leeds next week for the 2023 Transport Technology Forum Annual Conference to discuss a range of ways technology can help them solve their road transport challenges.

“The record attendance for the event reflects the quality of the conference agenda,” explains TTF Manager Darren Capes from the Department for Transport. “It features speeches, discussion and presentations including contributions from the Department for Transport, local authorities, the devolved national governments, plus ERTICO – ITS Europe and the supply chain. The people attending represent a full cross-section of the sector who together can make a difference to improve the movement of people and goods.

“I’m also excited to hear updates from our six TTF working groups which cover signal phase and timing, Mobility as a Service, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, open data, Urban Traffic Management and Control and smart parking. These are all giving us updates on Day One of the event and set the scene for what the Forum is achieving.”

The event is sponsored by highways and transport solutions provider Clearview Intelligence. Its Head of Technical Sales Pete Cattell will present a paper “From Policy to Pavement” which will challenge whether government policies enough to make a change happen, and whether there is additional support needed from business. Mr Cattell will also ask how can anyone be sure that the policies are being implemented, are they having the desired effect and what can SMEs do to help.

Clearview is one of a number of private sector supporters of the event, whose financial contribution makes it possible to fully-fund places for local authority representatives. 24 organisations are exhibiting, and while the exhibition space is sold out, there are still a very few table sponsorships available which offer a chance to host a branded table at the conference dinner and access to all the networking events. Yunex Traffic is the Evening Network Event Sponsor.

The event’s commercial sponsors are: Main sponsor – Clearview Intelligence. Networking Sponsor – Yunex Traffic. Exhibitors – City Science Corporation, Smart Video and Sensing, JCT Consultancy, VivaCity, Starling Technologies, SRL, ATM-AMAC, TWM Traffic Control Systems, Mobius Networks, Brightly Software, Rennicks UK, Teledyne FLIR, Seoul Robotics, Compass IoT, TRL, IHE, Arup, Connected Places Catapult, Angoka, MVIS and KPMG, while Brightly Software, Connected Places Catapult and WJ Group have signed up as table hosts.

The Conference is organised for the TTF by LCRIG, the Local Council Roads Innovation Group.  It takes place at the Hilton Hotel in Central Leeds.  The latest agenda is here.  To get a flavour of what to expect, watch last year’s event in Liverpool on the TTF YouTube channel here.
