Two videos are circulating of people riding escooters on busy roads, further raising doubts about the mode’s safety and the responsibility of people using them.
After a series of stories about accidents with pedestrians and vehicles, including at least one death, the videos are now showing people riding irresponsibly.
One video tweeted by the Central Motorway Police Group shows “an intoxicated male on the A38(M) on Sunday morning)”. The tweet says the man found “a novel but very dangerous way to get home after a night in Brum.” The video shows him riding along the middle of the Aston Expressway.
We are huge advocates of #modalshift & #ActiveTravel here at @CMPG.But scooters & the like should never be on the network, this intoxicated male on the A38M Sunday morning was stopped & reported after he found a novel but very dangerous way to get home after a night in Brum. 3505 pic.twitter.com/CGmSwVSnWM

Meanwhile a video doing the rounds on WhatsApp shows a man riding along the busy A13near the North Circular Road junction in East London, riding in between two lanes of the road. In it he is narrowly missed by a lorry.
