Work to commence on new cycleway in West Lothian

Work is set to start on the construction of a new section of cycleway/footpath that will link the Wester Inch area directly to the existing path network in Whitehill Industrial Estate and on to Blackburn.

The project features as part of the West Lothian Active Travel Plan which sets to provide more active travel opportunities for communities across West Lothian. The project is being funded by the Scottish Government through the Cycling Walking Safer Routes (CWSR) budget.

Construction work will commence from 12 February on cycle/footpath which the site located off Inchmuir Road from Pottishaw Place travelling behind industrial unites within Whitehill Industrial Estate through to Wester Inch.

Work will see some disruption within the area during periods of the project including verge closures and local traffic management in that area of Whitehill Industrial Estate via temporary traffic lights.

It is hoped that work will be completed on the new path by 13 April.
