Drivers who ignore signs and go through a road closure on the A417 near Gloucester may be fined up to £1,000. The road has been closed at Maisemore since Monday due to “significant flooding,” reports Gloucestershire Live.
The A417 is closed between the A40 and The Rudge as various road closures remain in place across the county. Gloucestershire County Council Highways posted via X account Glos Roads that drivers going through the road closure may face a hefty fine. The road closures are in place and, while the “majority” of people have followed the road signs away from the A417, some drivers have been driving through it.
The account said those who drive through the closure and the floodwater may be prosecuted.
Glos Roads said: “The A417 at Maisemore remains closed due to flooding
