Transport Scotland has issued a market consultation notice, entitled Modernising Scotland’s Traffic Systems, and it wants you to help shape the future of its trunk road network.

Posting on LinkedIN, the government body says:

“Bringing together live traffic information, network observation and operational coordination, Traffic Scotland helps road users make informed decisions before and during journeys.

As technology evolves, we’re seeking a future model where a single supplier is responsible for delivery, integration, performance and maintenance of the Traffic Scotland systems.

We want to hear from the market on how to:

• Innovate
• Manage change, and
• Embrace modern solutions.”

The Preliminary Market Consultation notice is intended to help buyers potentially source or create innovative goods, works or services for the public sector in Scotland. It is NOT a regulated procurement notice and is NOT an intention to procure goods, services, or works at this point.

Before commencing appropriate procurement activity, buyers may consider it appropriate to conduct market consultation. Within an innovation context this can be helpful when seeking or accepting advice from independent experts, authorities or from market participants. It can also be important to consult market participants when assessing the development of the market and planning subsequent potential procurement processes.

The expression of interest deadline is noon on 17 July.
