BREAKING NEWS – UK preferred host of 2027 ITS World Congress

It’s intended the 2027 ITS World Congress will be hosted at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, after the United Kingdom bid was accepted by ERTICO – ITS Europe.

Birmingham has been selected as preferred city with ERTICO saying “Birmingham and the United Kingdom at large is advancing Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS), as the sector is growing. As preferred host city, Birmingham is emphasising ‘real-world experiences’ and delivering practical take aways, which will be key for the Congress in 2027.”

The announcement was made by Dr Angelos Amditis, ERTICO Chairman on the first day of the 29th ITS World Congress in Suzhou, China. It’s the first time the UK has been chosen to host the Congress since it took place at Excel in London in 2006.

ERTICO organises the European Congresses for two executive years, with over 3,000 attendees representing 50 countries from Europe and beyond, and every third year, a World Congress welcoming more than 12,000 attendees from over 100 countries worldwide.

Dr Amditis also announced Istanbul is preferred host of the ITS European Congress in 2026.
