National Highways has issued an update after being forced to close part of the A1 due to a burst water main. An 11-mile section of the A1 northbound between the A606 Stamford and A151 Colsterworth has been partially closed due to the carriageway flooding, says Lincolnshire Live.

An update from National Highways said:

“A1 north between the A606 (Stamford) & A151 (Colsterworth) Lane 1 (of 2) remains closed due to a burst water main, which has partially flooded the carriageway.

“Anglian Water repairs are ongoing and there’s no eta for completion. There’s no delays on approach.”

The burst water main was first reported by National Highways shortly before 5pm on Sunday and remains an issue.

The initial announcement of the closur said:

“A1 northbound between the A606 (Stamford) and the A151 (Colsterworth) – lane 1 (of 2) is closed due to a burst water main which has partially flooded the carriageway. Anglian Water are on scene carrying out repairs. – There are no delays on the approach.”
