Karla Jakeman of Innovate UK is the new Vice Chair of the UK’s Intelligent Transport Society.

She’ll work alongside new chair Ryan Hood of TRL who took over from WSP’s Ian Patey at the beginning of the month.

ITS (UK) is a membership organisation of public organisations, consultancies, suppliers and other innovators. It’s run by a small secretariat of paid staff and overseen by a Council made up of volunteers from key member organisations.

Jakeman is Innovate UK’s Connected Transport Innovation Lead, a post she’s held for five years. She called ITS (UK) “a force for good” in the industry.

ITS (UK) has also announced its Young Professionals Forum will be led by Chair James Bullen of Atkins and Vice Chair Ashik Nazar of Arup.
