A Berlin-based micromobility technology company has developed a connected, adaptable vehicles designed to give users more ways to move.
Lemmo’s One model uses the company’s Dual Mode Vehicle (DMV) platform, combining a conventional bicycle with electric assistance through a detachable Smartpac battery and power module. The system incorporates a Dual Mode Hub with patented Zero-Friction Clutch technology, allowing the bike to operate as an e-bike with the module fitted or as a mechanical bicycle when it is removed.
The mechanical bike weighs approximately 15kg, with the Smartpac adding around 3kg. Lemmo claims an assisted range of up to 100km. The One has received several design awards, including Red Dot: Best of the Best and the iF Design Award.
Unveiled in September 2026, the Lemmo 3 is the company’s first All Purpose Vehicle (APV), a longtail electric cargo bike designed for transporting passengers and goods. It has a maximum total load capacity of 200kg and supports modular accessories for applications including family transport, shopping and leisure use.
The model features Lemmo’s 4D Suspension system, comprising 80mm of rear-wheel travel, an 80mm suspension fork, a suspension seatpost and 2.6-inch tyres. The company describes the full-suspension longtail configuration as a category first.
Other features include a 960Wh semi-solid-state battery, a high-torque hub motor, rear-approach radar with a claimed detection range of up to 100 metres, combined braking and integrated lighting with indicators and brake lights. Intelligent automatic shifting is also planned.
The two models reflect a broader micromobility trend towards versatile electric bicycles that can accommodate different journeys and carrying requirements, potentially reducing the need for separate vehicles for commuting, family transport and leisure.
