Mazda North American Operations has partnered with the American Automobile Association and HAAS Alert to broadcast real-time hazard notifications when disabled vehicles request assistance. The integration couples Mazda roadside service dispatches with HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud Protect platform, delivering digital Slow Down, Move Over warnings to approaching connected vehicles and compatible mobile navigation systems.
Triggered automatically when a driver requests roadside support through the MyMazda mobile application or dispatch lines, the system relays location telemetry to nearby road users to mitigate secondary collision risks. The connected safety feature is operational across supported North American markets for all eligible Mazda models equipped with factory emergency roadside assistance.
When a Mazda customer requests roadside assistance through the MyMazda app or via a toll-free phone call, a local AAAaffiliated service provider is dispatched to the customer to provide support. Simultaneously, through AAA’s safety partnership with HAAS Alert, drivers in supported markets may receive Slow Down, Move Over digital alerts via their Safety Cloudconnected vehicles or mobile navigation apps.
“Real-world safety doesn’t end when the crash is over or when a customer pulls over to the shoulder,” said Jennifer Morrison, Director of Vehicle Safety Strategy at Mazda North American Operations. “Some of the most dangerous moments on the road happen after the initial event, when other drivers come up on a stopped or disabled vehicle without warning. By working with AAA and HAAS Alert, we’re extending the protection of a Mazda vehicle to not only our customers, but also to everyone on the road around it.”
