MyCity…..your way…a new traffic management platform by Swarco

Traffic technology specialist, Swarco, has launched a new modular traffic management platform-MyCity, that gives local authorities and other operatives greater control of its systems to enable improved mobility for the public.

MyCity is a web-based modular setup which means it can be tailored to suit the needs of individual towns or cities and the flexibility further enables it to be set up as a service model with features and functionalities added at anytime to help improve traffic flows and safety. But yet it has the functionality of a traditional traffic management system such as traffic signal monitoring and control, car park guidance and VMS management as well as journey time monitoring while also enabling the ‘plug-in’ of new features such as EV charging management, air quality management and micromobility.

MyCity also brings together all of Swarco’s software solutions such as Zephyr, which allows users to control and manage Variable Message Signs and other safety critical signage to guide drivers, whether it be the nearest parking space or by providing traffic updates and information. It is available as an on-premise option or as a clod-based solution that is operated by Swarco 24/7.

Carl Dyer, Chief Technology Officer at Swarco said: “Traditionally Swarco has delivered domain-specific solutions within the field of urban traffic, highways, parking and public transport. MyCity is now bringing this domain space know-how together in a holistic platform approach. Various legacy systems, data sources and information systems can be easily integrated to determine meaningful information on the current and future traffic situation and determine an optimisation strategy that is right for the needs of individual cities and its residents.”
