Planned roadworks in Ipswich will no longer be taking place due to a shortage of specialist equipment. Suffolk Highways was due to carry out resurfacing work on Devonshire Road from Monday 3 August.

According to the Ipswich Star, the authority has now said the works on the road that runs between Back Hamlet and Cavendish Street have been pushed back due to a national issue.

A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said:

“Please be advised that next week’s resurfacing works at Devonshire Road, Ipswich, have been postponed. This is due to a national shortage of the specialist equipment required for the works.

“We apologise for this unforeseen delay and will provide an update with a new date for works once this has been confirmed.”
