New M9 junction gets planning permission

West Lothian Council has granted planning permission for a new junction on the M9 at Winchburgh.

The Daily Record reports that the new intersection should give people of Winchburgh and the surrounding areas new connectivity with Edinburgh, Falkirk, Grangemouth, Stirling and Dunblane.

The paper explains that the junction on the B8020 at Duntarvie will be formed by constructing a roundabout with four new slip roads, centred around the existing motorway bridge.

It will be connected to the motorway with a new road from Winchburgh town centre.

Work should begin in the summer.
