Solar safety and security specialists SG has announced the launch of its EV charging solution: a single-contract service covering design, installation, grid connection, management and maintenance.
The offering brings DNO (Distribution Network Operator) liaison and grid capacity assessment inhouse, led by P&D Specialist Services, the electrical contracting business within the wider Torquay Group alongside SG and MVIS.
Rather than coordinating a charger installer, a separate electrical contractor and a DNO application as three separate relationships, customers work with one point of contact for the whole project, from initial site assessment through to installation and ongoing management. EV Charging services are built on the combined expertise of P&D Specialist Services and SG.
The two businesses have worked closely to develop a comprehensive EV charging offering, combining P&D’s extensive experience in electrical infrastructure, grid connection and DNO liaison with SG’s expertise in EV charger deployment, project management and site delivery across the UK and Ireland.

To maximise the efficiency of available electrical capacity, SG is offering advanced load management and load balancing solutions. Where securing a new DNO connection is not practical, or site capacity is constrained, charging loads can be intelligently managed and prioritised across the site. This allows businesses to optimise energy usage, reduce peak demand costs, and schedule vehicle charging during lower-cost, off-peak tariff periods. Once commissioned, all charging infrastructure is backed by 24/7 monitoring and support, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability and a seamless experience for both site operators and EV drivers.
