Slough tackles transport-related emissions

Officials in Slough are considering introducing a Clean Air Zone in the town to tackle air quality issues, which it says are mainly caused by transport.

Slough Express reports that the council’s undertaking a feasibility study focussing on three air quality hotspots including the road in from Junction 6 of the M4.

Slough has been awarded funding by Defra to monitor air quality outside four schools. The report says the project was due to run from June until November but has been pushed back into next year due to the coronavirus crisis.
