Transport Scotland searches for two roads maintenance contractors for the north of the country

Transport Scotland has started the procurement process for two maintenance contractors to deliver trunk road and motorway work in the north of the country.

A prior information notice published on OJEU said the contract would cover work in the north east and north west of Scotland over eight years, with a possible extension of four years.

The notice said work would include construction and maintenance on bridges, highways, roads and surface works, along with the installation of street lighting and safety equipment along roads. Inspection services on bridge and road design, and construction, will also be taken on by the contractor. The contract in the north west was said to be worth £900 million and £530 million in the north east.
