Two people seriously hurt in e-scooter crash in Liverpool

Police in Liverpool are appealing for information following a collision on Tuesday which left two passengers on an e-scooter seriously injured.

They say they received a report at around 6.50pm that an electric scooter was in collision with a black Ford Fiesta at the junction of Mulgrave Street, Grove Street and Upper Parliament Street.

Emergency services attended the scene and the two female riders of the scooter were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta stopped at the scene, was uninjured and is assisting police with enquiries.

E-scooter trials are taking place across England and while there are perceived benefits for last mile journeys, question marks remain about their safety around pedestrians and motor vehicles.
