The advanced road traffic management solutions company Valerann has received the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award 2024 for the effective use of AI and advanced data analytics in road safety.
Valerann has received this prestigious award for its flagship data analytics platform, Lanternn by Valerann™, which provides road traffic authorities with insights to help them to improve road safety through proactive road management.
Deployed with public and private operators world-wide, the platform uses real-time road traffic related and weather data and through complex analytics delivers a holistic overview of real-time road traffic situation, detects incidents and prioritises alerts enabling traffic authorities to reduce response time and mitigate risks.
The Lanternn by Valerann™ data fusion engine fuses data from these multiple sources, and uses proprietary AI and computer vision algorithms to provide bespoke insights which allow controllers to better manage the traffic. The software’s insights increase accuracy in incident detection, and reduces the time taken for incidence response. It can even predict where road collisions are more likely to take place before they happen, allowing warning signs to be set and emergency services to head to an area, just in case.
The award judges said they were highly impressed by this effective use of AI and advanced data analytics for its significant contribution to improving safety.
Valerann is currently working with National Highways on a pilot in the Midlands.
“We are incredibly proud honoured to receive this prestigious award. This distinguished recognition underscores the commitment of the Valerann team, and highlights the vital and transformational role AI and the data-driven approach plays in saving lives on our roads.” – said Gabriel Jacobson, CEO of Valerann. “Our mission has always been to empower road traffic authorities to take accurate and timely data-driven decisions, thus making their roads safer. The Prince Michael International Road Safety Award motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation to ensure that road safety remains a global priority.”
The annual Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, which were first established in 1987 and are designed to give public recognition to organisations and individuals who have improved road safety, recognise innovation and outstanding achievements world-wide.
