Arity, a subsidiary of The Allstate Corporation, has agreed to acquire substantially all the assets of transportation intelligence and mobility analytics provider INRIX, bringing together complementary data and expertise spanning driving behaviour, traffic, road networks and transport infrastructure.
The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The acquisition is intended to give organisations a more comprehensive understanding of how people, vehicles, goods and roads interact, combining Arity’s predictive insights into driving behaviour and risk with INRIX’s established transportation intelligence platform.
Arity draws on more than three trillion miles of driving data, while INRIX has spent more than two decades providing data, analytics and intelligence to public agencies, businesses, vehicle manufacturers, mobility providers and technology companies.
Gary Hallgren, president of Arity, said: “Transportation operates as one connected system, yet the intelligence used to understand it remains fragmented across industries and data sources.
“By combining Arity’s predictive insights on driving behaviour and risk with INRIX’s transportation intelligence and mobility analytics, we will be uniquely positioned to deliver more robust intelligence and insights into how people, vehicles, goods, and roads interact.”
He added that the deal would bring together two teams with complementary expertise and a shared ambition to shape the future of transportation systems.
INRIX co-founder and chief executive Bryan Mistele said the combination offered opportunities to develop mobility intelligence further and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transport for customers across the public and private sectors.
“For more than two decades, INRIX has helped customers make better transportation decisions through data, analytics, and transportation intelligence. Arity shares our vision that a complete understanding of how people, vehicles, roads, and goods interact can lead to better outcomes for our communities and businesses,” he said.
The companies believe that linking INRIX’s capabilities in mobility, traffic, parking, road analytics and transportation infrastructure with Arity’s expertise in driving behaviour, connected vehicle data and risk analysis will provide customers with a broader view of the transport network.
Potential applications span several sectors, including insurers seeking to understand and manage risk, businesses moving goods, and public authorities working to improve road safety and plan infrastructure investment.
The deal forms part of Arity’s wider strategy to build a more complete picture of how transportation works and how it is changing. By combining insights into driving behaviour, mobility patterns and road network performance, the businesses aim to help organisations identify emerging trends, make better-informed decisions and improve transport outcomes.
For INRIX, the acquisition brings the prospect of extending the value of its transportation intelligence through access to Arity’s extensive mobility data and advanced analytics. For both companies, the longer-term ambition is to support safer, more efficient and more resilient transport systems and the communities and economies that depend on them.
