Clearview announces video analytics solution

Highways and transport solutions provider Clearview Intelligence has announced it’s launching a new video analytics software platform to deliver comprehensive count and classification services from a standard CCTV image.

Speaking at the Transport Technology Forum Autumn Update meeting in Manchester, the company’s Head of Urban and Rural, Pete Cattell (pictured) showed an example of the solution which analyses images streamed from roadside cameras to identify, among other things, vehicle class, speed, headway, gap and direction.

Clearview says this solution complements legacy in-road and roadside detection and offers highways authorities a cost-effective and accurate alternative to invasive technology using equipment they already own.

“We’re excited to be bringing this innovative technology to the UK market,” Mr Cattell told the meeting. “It complements our existing detection and road safety solutions we’re known for.”

The solution is built within Clearview’s award-winning Insight platform which also delivers cloud-based real-time and historic journey time data and an integrated asset management platform.

“The platform is under constant development and will be enhanced with extra features over the coming months,” Mr Cattell concluded.

In his presentation he also outlined a safer cycling solution implemented in Hull and a new, improved version of the company’s industry-leading solarlite solar road stud called Clicklite which fits into a standard cast iron road stud shoe.
