ERTICO – ITS Europe CEO Joost Vantomme has announced, via a video on the company’s LinkedIn page, that the Call for Contributions for next year’s 33rd ITS World Congress in Birmingham is opening soon.
Defining the future of smart mobility and intelligent transport requires connecting groundbreaking research with real-world deployment, he says. The global mobility community will soon have the opportunity to submit their work and shape the Technical Programme for one of the sector’s most influential international gatherings.
Built around four Congress topics: Trustworthy and Resilient Systems, Next-Generation ITS, Connected and Integrated Services, and Deploying ITS at Scale – the Programme for 2027 provides a global platform for research institutes, city authorities, operators, tech pioneers, and startups to move ideas from debate into action.
There are four ways to contribute:
• Special Interest Sessions (SIS): Interactive, discussion-led sessions addressing strategic challenges, industry trends, and collaborative projects.
• Technical Papers: Real-world case studies, pilot results, and operational insights from current deployments.
• Research Papers: Peer-reviewed, high-impact scientific work that advances the state of the art.
• Posters: Visual, engaging presentations perfect for early-stage initiatives, emerging research, and direct networking.
