A vehicle fire in the A55 Conwy Tunnel in North Wales has led to a significant closure followed by the introduction of a contraflow to allow both directions of traffic to share one tunnel.
Ten fire engines and four specialist appliances were called to the scene shortly 2pm on Thursday when the fire was reported in the westbound tunnel.
Nobody died in the fire, although people nearby were warned to keep their windows and doors shut because of the amount of smoke.
Local reports say people had to abandon their vehicles in the tunnel and exit on foot.
