The organisers of the 2027 ITS World Congress at Birmingham’s NEC have announced the first exhibitors confirmed for the event, with more than a quarter of the available exhibition space already secured 500 days ahead of the Congress.
ERTICO – ITS Europe, which is organising the 33rd ITS World Congress alongside hosts Transport for West Midlands, says demand from across the global intelligent transport and mobility sector continues to grow, with the event expected to attract up to 15,000 participants from more than 100 countries when it takes place from 25-29 October 2027.
Among the first organisations to confirm exhibition space are Toyota, DENSO, T-Systems, SWARCO, Monotch and evon GmbH, alongside Q-Free, Jenoptik, HAAS Alert, Acusensus, Ettifos, Haskoning Nederland Mobility, RTIG and QRoutes Ltd. International ITS organisations including ITS America, ITS Japan, ITS Asia-Pacific, ITS Mobility GmbH, ITS Nordic+ and ITS Portugal have also committed to taking part.
“I’m pleased to see a strong wave of bookings and growing sponsorship interest already building for the ITS World Congress in Birmingham,” commented Jasvinder Sidhu, ERTICO’s Commercial Partnerships and Exhibition Lead, while Jordan Cowley, Business Development Executive at TfWM, added: “I think it’s fair to say we’re ahead of where we expected to be as we approach 500 days from the event, and are ready to announce the first confirmed exhibitors.”
Organisers say the Congress is also attracting strong interest from governments, transport authorities and international delegations, with national pavilions from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas planning to showcase mobility technologies, smart city projects and transport deployment strategies.
The Congress will focus on themes including connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM), AI-enabled transport systems, smart logistics, digital infrastructure and sustainable urban mobility. ERTICO says Birmingham 2027 will provide a platform for public and private sector organisations to collaborate on the future of intelligent transport.
The event marks the first time in 21 years that the UK has hosted the ITS World Congress, following the London edition in 2006. Birmingham and the West Midlands were selected as hosts thanks to the region’s strong credentials in transport innovation, connected mobility and digital infrastructure development.
With demand for exhibition space already high, organisers encourage prospective exhibitors to act swiftly to secure their participation and their preferred spot in the exhibition hall.
