Ringway wins contract to deliver central area of HMF

Ringway has been appointed as the Central area maintenance contractor under the London Highways Maintenance Framework (HMF) by Transport for London (TfL).

The eight to 12-year framework will commence on 1st April 2021 and is designed to allow London Boroughs and other stakeholders in the capital, such as the Greater London Authority and developers to also participate and benefit from best practice across the city.

This will see a return to Central London for Ringway, who previously delivered highway maintenance services to TfL between 2001 to 2007.

Glynn Barton, TfL’s Director of Network Management, said: “Our network of red routes are the arteries of London’s road network and play a vital role in helping people get around the capital safely, whether they are walking, cycling, getting the bus or driving. These new maintenance and small projects frameworks will help us to keep these roads safe and well maintained for years to come, as we work to cut road danger and congestion and make London one of the best cities for walking and cycling.”

Mike Notman, Managing Director, said: “This win means a huge amount to Ringway. It will allow us to re-establish our relationship with Transport for London; a relationship that goes back nearly 20 years and will enable us to really accelerate sustainable highway services in the Capital.

“Working with innovative clients, such as TfL, enables us to deliver some of the most sustainable highway maintenance services in the country. This new HMF contract will benefit London residents and road users, as well as helping us to make the changes needed right now to address the climate emergency that we are facing.”
