Traffic grows but car use remains limited, TTF finds

The latest Transport Technology Forum Local Authority Transport and Travel report suggests traffic is slowly getting back to pre-crisis levels but that car travel is growing less than other vehicle types.

Data gathered from a number of local authorities across England also indicates there has still been no return to a full morning traffic peak.

Cycling statistics continue to suggest a weekday decline since the beginning of June but weekend levels are increasing.

The report also highlights how authorities are changing enforcement to reinforce sustainable mobility initiatives, supporting more take-up and surveying residents to ensure public support, plus taking an academic route to improved air quality.
