Transport for Greater Manchester starts search for three contractors for £200m highways framework

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has started the search for three contractors for its minor highways improvement framework.

Work will include carriageway resurfacing, road crossings, kerbs, footway reinstatement and road markings as well as delivery of traffic light projects that will include Scoot and Mova.

The framework is a single lot, with three suppliers to be appointed. The agreement will last for 48 months and is not subject to renewal.

The winning contractors will be expected to deliver works simultaneously at approximately 70 sites spread throughout the Greater Manchester area.

It is suggested that works packages will be issued throughout the contract duration in a phased manner to ensure efficient and effective use of internal and external resources. This will ensure that the framework has the flexibility to meet the requirements of the various projects it will support.

The deadline for receipt of tenders is midday on 2 June.
