A Waymo autonomous vehicle has been burnt out after being set on fire by a group of people in San Francisco.

The local NBC affiliate TV station reports the vehicle was travelling in the Chinatown area of the city on Saturday night when it was surrounded by about 10 to 15 people.

Several social media videos showed a group of people vandalising the self-driving car. While another video showed the Waymo vehicle going up in flames.
