Costain is offering an enhanced range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workwear products, reinforcing its commitment to safety, inclusivity and sustainability.
In cooperation with its Disability and Wellbeing Network and Women’s Network, Costain has worked with its PPE and workwear supply partner Arco, to complete major update to its PPE and workwear catalogue. More than 150 inclusive and sustainable items are now available to Costain’s people to improve comfort, accessibility and fit for its workforce. In Costain’s 2025 Sustainability Report, 24% of its people stated they had a disability or long-term health condition.
Additions to the catalogue include a range of lace-free, dial and cable boots, otherwise known as BOA safety boots, designed for individuals who find traditional laces difficult to use. Clothing options feature thinner, more breathable fabrics to support individuals experiencing skin conditions, sensory issues or going through menopause. PPE can also be customised for individuals with limb differences.
More broadly, the catalogue has been revised to include a larger range of PPE, clothing and footwear produced using more sustainable methods, whereby items use a greater proportion of recycled materials and have a lower reduced water and energy footprint compared to traditional methods. The updates to the catalogue have doubled the number of sustainable PPE items available to Costain’s people.
Catherine Duffy, Chief People and Sustainability Officer at Costain, said:
“We’re an inclusive employer committed to creating a workplace where everyone has opportunities to reach their full potential.
“Working closely with Arco and colleagues from our inclusion networks, we’ve enhanced our PPE and workwear catalogue for our people, improving inclusivity without compromising on safety, quality or sustainability.”
