Industry veteran Martin Duffy has announced he is stepping down as Chair of the Local Council Roads Innovation Group.

Mr Duffy, who was formerly the CEO of the organisation, said it was the right time to get new blood into the organisation as it grows.

“Maybe the new Chair will swim in a different pond” he said, mentioning how he has spent 40 years in the highways sector and “doesn’t know anything else”.

The new person “Maybe will bring a new perspective… be able to help us look at alternative things that will arise.”
