The sustainable energy company Gridserve has signed a deal with Hitachi to develop ultra-fast charging for all types of electric vehicles, delivering more than a hundred Electric Forecourts over five years.

It says the partnership will see Gridserve develop the UK’s most “technically advanced hybrid solar farms”, with Hitachi bringing its “financial strength” and motor industry expertise.

It’s working on projects including hybrid solar farms in Gloucestershire and Lincolnshire, and a soon-to-open Electric Forecourt near Braintree in Essex, with space for 24 vehicles to charge simultaneously in 20-30 minutes at a rate of up to 350 kW from its superchargers.
