Organisations or individuals wanting to present at next August’s ITS Global Summit in Melbourne are being invited to put forward their pitch for papers.

The Global Summit is an expanded version of ITS Australia’s Annual Summit meeting, and has been enlarged to offer a face-to-face global event in the Asia Pacific region next year, after it emerged China was planning for the ITS World Congress it is hosting to be an online event for international visitors.

“With an international programme that’s 25% larger than ever before, ITS Global Summit 2023 will explore approaches to accelerating smarter, safer, sustainable transport by leveraging the ever-expanding capabilities of technology,” ITS Australia says in an email. “Held over 4 days, Global Summit will include plenary and technical sessions, technical tours and demonstrations of leading Melbourne transport hubs, industry exhibition and of course, vibrant networking social functions that Australians are famous for.

“Global Summit 2023 will bring together government, industry, and academic thought leaders from across the globe – as well as the Next Generation of ITS thinkers with its discount student programme and wide NextGen network, the Call for Abstracts is now open.”

The event takes place from 28-31 August at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
