The popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium is promising delegates plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas away from the formal presentations when leading traffic signals experts gather in Lincoln next month.
“Networking has always been an important part of the event, allowing local authority practitioners, consultants, suppliers, academics and Government experts to share knowledge, discuss new opportunities and catch up with colleagues from across the industry,” explained JCT Director John Nightingale. “This year the Symposium is returning to its original home of Lincoln with a new-look format which puts even greater emphasis on technical discussion. The exhibition has been paused for 2026, with fewer but longer papers and additional time for questions, giving delegates greater opportunity to explore the subjects being presented in depth.”
Alongside fully catered breaks and lunches, there will be two evening networking events. Following the MOVA Users Group on Tuesday 15 September, delegates are invited to an informal gathering at Virtually Golf on Brayford Wharf from 5pm. JCT will provide a complimentary drink or two, while delegates can also try the venue’s golf simulators. The evening is not sponsored and attendees can choose from a range of nearby options for dinner.
On Wednesday 16 September, the networking moves to The Towers Students’ Union bar for a barbecue, with complimentary drinks. The venue includes free pool tables and other pub games, along with heated pods for al fresco dining.
The barbecue is sponsored by NAL, Telent and Yunex Traffic, starts at 7pm, with food served from 7.30pm.
The networking complements a technical programme focused on one of local authorities’ most powerful tools for managing their networks. Modern traffic signal control can improve traffic flow while also helping authorities prioritise public transport and make better provision for pedestrians and cyclists.
The MOVA Users Group takes place on 15 September, followed by the JCT Traffic Signals Symposium at the University of Lincoln on 16 and 17 September. Get more details and book your place here.
