M6 junction 19 work to start for Amey/McAlpine

The Amey and McAlpine joint venture project at Junction 19 of the M6 is to start despite the latest challenges around COVID-19,

The major roundabout improvement works near Knutsford in Cheshire, includes building a new bridge through an existing roundabout and over the M6 to help create better traffic movements between the M6 and A556. There are also improvements for pedestrians and cyclists as part of the project.

Foundations will be built within the central area of the roundabout from May onwards and preparation work for that will be started straight away, along with drainage and utilities works for the project.

Highways England said that all works done now would be completed inline with the latest government guidelines on COVID-19. This includes strict safeguarding measurements and the site will be closed to the public
