The Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund has officially concluded, with the publication of its final report by ADEPT, highlighting achievements in boosting England’s tree coverage.
Launched in November 2022, 57 local authorities across England were awarded nearly £10 million in funding to accelerate tree planting activity, create green jobs and boost access to nature.
The report highlights the following achievements:
• Over 3.3 million trees planted throughout England
• 113 new green jobs created across various forestry and environmental roles
• Enhanced technical expertise within local authorities
The fund was administered by the Forestry Commission in partnership with DEFRA. ADEPT promoted the fund and provided technical support.
