Willis Bros win Cullompton Relief Road contract

Wills Bros Civil Engineering have been awarded a £13.8m contract to deliver the Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road by Devon County Council. The contract is expected to run from 1 June 2026 until 1 January 2028.

Planning permission for the road, which will run from Station Road in the north to Duke Street in the South, was secured in January 2021 and a funding package with Homes England was signed in February 2025.

The1.3km road with a 6.5m wide carriageway includes a new four-arm roundabout at Station Road/Millennium Way, a new bridge over Spratford Mill Stream, and five new junctions. In terms of Active Tavel, a 3m wide shared-use path is being constructed to connect Meadow Lane to local sports facilities, with work already underway.
