Today marks an important milestone for the highways sector: RAISE, the national industry reporting platform for roadworker abuse, is now formally part of NEFRA, under NEFRA ownership and unified governance.
This transition reflects the collective position of NEFRA’s member organisations and ensures the platform and the anonymised national dataset behind it is protected, transparently governed and aligned with the long‑term aims of the campaign. RAISE will retain its name and identity, its creator Laura Hogg will remain Technical Lead and Advisor, ensuring continuity and safeguarding the integrity of the platform.
Statement from Paula Parsons (pictured), Chair of NEFRA:
“RAISE has become central to how we understand the behaviours that lead to aggression and abuse at roadworks. Bringing it into NEFRA strengthens our ability to build a single, trusted national evidence base. Laura and the Data team will now work together to develop the platform further, ensuring the industry gets the analytics it needs to support the planning of works and to guide the development of guidance and best practice.
“This is a significant step forward one national message, one national dataset, and one shared commitment to protecting the people who keep our roads running.”
