Clearview’s Amsterdam adventure kicks off a year of 50th birthday celebrations

The highways and transport solutions provider Clearview Intelligence will use its presence at the huge Intertraffic show in Amsterdam later this month to begin celebrations for the company’s 50th birthday.

Clearview started life as Golden River traffic in 1974, specialising in traffic monitoring and data capture devices before moving into innovative solar-powered road stud technology and then more signage, data capture and software solutions.

“For the whole half century of our company, we have concentrated on making roads more efficient,” explained Managing Director Nick Lanigan (pictured).  “The more efficient you can make roads, the more environmentally-friendly they are, and our solutions have always been at the cutting edge of sustainability.  From Golden River’s traffic data collection solutions which helped keep traffic moving, to our latest solar powered road studs, active travel solutions and Software as a Service, green solutions run through the business.”

Mr Lanigan also points to the company’s concentration on road safety, with its solar-powered studs reducing night-time collisions by 70 per cent, and the wired Intelligent Road Studs cutting down on crashes at complicated junctions and roundabouts.

“We’re now meeting a demand for better road safety for cyclists and pedestrians,” he continued, “and projects in Hull, where we use flashing studs to warn drivers when cyclists are due to cross their path, our new pathlite solar studs used on pavements and cycle paths, and our Connex Active LIDAR-based active travel solutions all deliver that, and we’ll be proudly showing these off in Amsterdam.

“What we’re also excited about is our software solution, Insight, single platform for device management, data collection and analysis, and our brand new Insight Vision CCTV and computer vision product for object detection, classification and events which uses AI to detect and recognise objects.

The Clearview Intelligence birthday celebrations begin on Wednesday 17 April at 3pm, when visitors to Intertraffic Amsterdam are invited to the Clearview stand in Hall 3, stand 100 for a celebration drink.

Intertraffic takes place between 16 and 19 April at the RAI in Amsterdam.
