ITS World Congress announces new partner and launches congress app

The organisers of next month’s ITS World Congress in Hamburg, ERTICO – ITS Europe have confirmed German rail company Deutsche Bahn as a partner.

“As one of the world’s largest mobility and logistics service providers, Deutsche Bahn is a proud partner of the 2021 ITS World Congress in Hamburg,” ERTICO says in a statement. “At the Congress, DB will present new solutions related to intelligent mobility and the integrated transportation of tomorrow.”

“Deutsche Bahn is one of the leading drivers of the mobility turnover,” explains Dr Meike Niedbal, the company’s Managing Director, Smart City. “Every journey by train passes through a station. In Hamburg, we are developing stations into more attractive places in the urban environment through our Smart City partnership. With better customer information, greener platforms, new waiting facilities and new services such as Smart Locker, we want to continuously improve the quality of stay for our passengers. At the ITS World Congress, we will present innovative projects – not only at stations, but also in long-distance as well as local transport with the digital rail and on the ‘last mile’ with the on-demand transport service by ioki.”

Deutsche Bahn promise to show off new innovations and talk about the mobility topics of the future.

Meanwhile ERTICO Director for Communications, Congresses and Events added, “This week, I am excited to announce that we are launching the Congress App: ITS Congresses. This is an effective networking tool, offering real opportunities to create the optimum schedule for your event!”

The app is available in the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
