The organisers of the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium have announced that the exhibition of new technology will return in 2027, with the event staged in the Engine Shed and Lincoln Performing Arts Centre at the University of Lincoln.
JCT Director John Nightingale announced the plans at this year’s Symposium, which is taking place in Lincoln today and tomorrow (16 and 17 September).
The exhibition was paused for 2026 as JCT refreshed the event and placed greater emphasis on its core role as a learned meeting for traffic signals professionals. This year’s programme features longer technical papers and more time for questions and detailed discussion.
JCT says the Engine Shed (pictured) will enable the exhibition to return with more space and a layout well suited to bringing suppliers, delegates and speakers together alongside the technical programme.
“The changes we made this year have allowed us to concentrate on the Symposium’s central purpose of sharing knowledge, innovation and best practice, but we also recognise the important contribution that exhibitors make to the event,” said Mr Nightingale.
“We are therefore delighted to confirm that the exhibition will return in 2027. The Engine Shed gives us more space and, importantly, its shape and layout will work very well for an exhibition. Meanwhile, the Performing Arts Centre is a state-of-the-art professional theatre, which is perfect venue for our papers and discussions. We believe it will create an excellent environment for exhibitors and delegates to meet while allowing us to retain the stronger focus on detailed technical content.”
The event will take place on 8 and 9 September, with the MOVA Users’ Group the day before.
The venue is part of the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Pool campus, where the 2026 Symposium has marked a return to the event’s original home city.
Mr Nightingale added: “This year has given us the opportunity to reassess the format and consider how the different parts of the Symposium can complement each other. Bringing the exhibition back in a larger, well-designed space will allow us to build on what we have learned and offer an even better event in 2027.”
