We’re finally getting together in person! Industry counts down to next week’s JCT Traffic Signals Symposium

More than 200 industry professionals from the public sector, manufacturers and consultancies are getting ready to meet in Nottingham next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for one of the first major in-person events to take place in the highways and transport technology industries since the start of the pandemic.

The JCT Traffic Signals Symposium’s programme covers a wide range of signal-related topics and consists of 24 papers alongside an exhibition feating 27 leading suppliers and consultancies. After so long apart, the organisers say it’s no surprise that there is a real excitement for the social side of the event too – including the SWARCO Drinks Reception, the Aldridge Barbeque, the Yunex Gala Dinner and a Sponsored Bar being held in the large outdoor Beer Tent (pictured).  There’s even a chance for delegates to get over the gala dinner the night before with an organised run on Thursday morning, being led by Aimsun Managing Director and keen runner Gav Jackman.

The JCT Traffic Signals Symposium is a two day event bringing together anyone with an interest in the traffic signals or the traffic control community. This year is the 26th Symposium and takes place at Nottingham Trent University on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 September with the first social event and MOVA User Group the day before – an independent event which is free to attend.

“We’ve kept our bookings open till the last possible moment this year to cater for people who are deciding now that they’re happy to get back to in-person events,” explained JCT Director John Nightingale, who’s organising the event.  “With 24 confirmed papers and 27 exhibitors the JCT Traffic Signals Symposium is set to be a great event – and while bookings have been surging in recent weeks but there is still time to secure your place.”

For those who cannot make it, a highlights video of the event will be made available as a repeating Zoom webinar this autumn.  This video is supported by Yunex Traffic, Smart Video and Sensing, AGD Systems, Colas, SRL and Vivacity.

The JCT Traffic Signals Symposium and MOVA User Group (on Tuesday 14 September) takes place at The Nottingham Conference Centre, Nottingham Trent University on 15 and 16 September.  To sign up as a delegate go to: http://www.jctconsultancy.co.uk/Symposium/Symposium2021/symposium2021.php
