After nearly 13 years at the helm, Claire Walters is retiring as Chief Executive of Bus Users UK.
The search is now on for a new CEO with the vision, drive and determination to help achieve the charity’s mission: improving access to transport.
The organisation is looking for a pioneering leader with a track record of turning a collective strategic vision into reality, and the skills and inclusive approach to manage and support the team.
It says candidates will need to be outstanding communicators able to liaise with government, industry bodies and stakeholder organisations at all levels, have a sound understanding of the duties of charity trustees and boards, and a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. They’ll also need a proven record of administration and financial management.
Although the organisation is looking for a background in the non-profit and/or transport sector, skills and personal qualities are the priority for this role.
Salary is in the region of £60,000 and the role involves remote working with frequent travel throughout the UK. Closing date for applications is 8 July 2025 and CVs should be sent to [email protected].
