Early Careers Professionals again offered cut-price JCT Symposium places for event’s new venue

The organisers of the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium are again offering people new to the industry a 70% discount tickets to the event at its new home in Leeds this September.

The Symposium shares best practice in the signals industry through a programme of learned papers covering a range of topics including road safety, traffic management research, asset management and on-street intelligence, with a strong focus on non-motorised users.

JCT has announced that, in order to support knowledge sharing among more people, a full fee-paying delegate may sponsor up to three Early Career Professionals from their organisation to attend the Symposium for only £120 per Delegate.

To qualify for this discount, an Early Career Professional must be working in Traffic Signals, Transport Planning, ITS, Highway Design Management or an associated field for a Local Authority or Consultancy.  They must have only been in their current post for three years or fewer (at the time of booking) and have not attended previous Symposia as a Delegate or Speaker.

JCT Director John Nightingale, who organises the event said: “Several attendees took us up on this offer last year, and we had more say they’d plan to this year if it was available.  We see this as an important initiative to encourage newcomers to our industry to engage with the Signals community and forge lasting links with our most experienced cohort.

“As time goes on these people may be the senior personal in their organisations and we want to introduce them to the excellent CPD and networking opportunities that the Symposium has been providing for the last 28 years.”

To sign up for the cut-price places, delegates should contact JCT who will provide a special booking form and / or a discount Coupon for online booking at the Symposium website.

The programme for this year is being finalised at the moment, while the exhibition stands are also almost sold out.  More details of the programme and exhibition will be shared in April.

This year’s JCT Traffic Signals Symposium takes place at the Royal Armouries Conference Centre in Leeds on 24 and 25 September 2025.  It features two days of academic presentations alongside a large exhibition and two evening networking events and is preceded by the free-to-attend MOVA Users Group on 23 September.

Sign up to attend or exhibit at this year’s event through the Symposium website, which also features options to book hotel rooms alongside the main event.  To get a flavour of what to expect, you can watch last September’s Symposium here
