Traffic signals professionals are being urged to secure their places for the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium as the industry prepares to gather in Lincoln for three days of learning, technical discussion and networking.

Bookings remain open for both the 31st JCT Traffic Signals Symposium and the MOVA Users Group, with some of the leading experts in the industry heading to the city between 15 and 17 September.

The MOVA Users Group takes place on Tuesday 15 September at the Hilton DoubleTree hotel on Brayford Wharf and is free to attend thanks to industry support.

The main Traffic Signals Symposium then takes place nearby at the University of Lincoln on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September, with both one- and two-day delegate tickets available.

“This year marks a return to the original home of the Symposium and a move back towards its roots as a learned technical meeting,” explained JCT Director John Nightingale.  “The exhibition has been paused for 2026, with organisers instead concentrating on fewer, longer presentations and allowing more time for questions and detailed discussion between experts.  The programme features 15 in-depth papers and two keynote addresses covering innovation, research, standards and best practice, with speakers from across local authorities, National Government, suppliers, academia and ITS UK.”

The technical focus comes at a time when authorities are increasingly looking to get more from their existing road networks. Traffic signals offer councils a practical way to improve traffic flows and journey reliability while also supporting policy objectives through bus and tram priority and better provision for walking and cycling.

Delegates can also book for the Networking Barbecue on the evening of Wednesday 16 September, sponsored by NAL, Telent and Yunex Traffic.
